The buzz surrounding the film is undeniable, and with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman returning as one of the most beloved X-Men, Wolverine, many rumors suggest that Deadpool 3 has every chance of becoming the biggest event in the Spider-Man Multiverse.
Especially since it will be the only confirmed Marvel Studios film for 2024!
The synopsis of Deadpool 3 is difficult to guess because we don’t have much information yet, apart from Ryan Reynolds’s warning that it will be “completely different” from what we’ve seen so far. Do cables have anything to do with it? And time travel, as we saw at the end of Deadpool 2?
Hope, Cable’s daughter, has much to say about mutants’ future (at least in the comics). Would the idea be to play with different timelines and return to Cable’s life in time? Or will we simply see Deadpool included in the Marvel Universe alongside the rest of Marvel’s superheroes?
The third installment is written by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin, creators of the series Bob’s Burgers, and directed by Shawn Levy, director of Free Guy, also with Reynolds. However, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, responsible for the first two installments, have been removed by Marvel.
Reynolds himself commented that the third movie “wants to go in a completely different direction”, adding, “Many times they reboot or change characters and maybe, after four movies, it’s too late.”

Much speculation was made until it was finally confirmed that Ryan Reynolds would be Wade Wilson, a mercenary marked with severe scars all over his body after the experimental regenerative mutation he underwent to treat terminal cancer.
Hugh Jackman will be James Logan Howlett or Wolverine, a kind of mutant with special abilities, retractable claws, and a special skeleton. According to the actor’s statements, to prepare for the role, he underwent an extreme exercise routine that included eating up to 9,000 calories a day.
Morena Baccarin will be Vanessa, Wilson’s fiancée. Tension in their love bond will continue between them.
Another protagonist will be Brianna Hildebrand in the role of Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a member of the teenage segment of X-Men, who has the power to detonate atomic explosions in her body.
Jennifer Garner will also be there in the role of Elektra Natchios, who will be a Greek-descended assassin who fights wielding a weapon called sai.
On the other hand, it is known that Zazie Beetz will not reprise her role as Domino, as confirmed by the actress, but Josh Brolin may return as Cable alongside Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Yukio (played by Shiori Kuna), and Russell (Julia Denison). Additionally, we’ll see Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, and Emma Corrin as a villain we don’t know much about.
Wolverine is back, and it has finally been revealed how Hugh Jackman will look original costume. Marvel has confirmed that Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on May 3, 2024. Originally, it was scheduled to be released in September of that year, but a change in the release schedule pushed it to theaters.
The brief teaser also included several characters expected to make a comeback for the movie’s third installment, such as Morena Baccarin reprising her role as Vanessa, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind AI.
Additionally, among the new characters introduced, audiences catch a glimpse of Matthew Macfadyen, known for his role in Succession, portraying Paradox, a TVA agent. The teaser depicts Wade being taken from his residence by Paradox’s associates to a TVA facility, where he learns about his “purpose”.
With the TVA’s involvement hinted at in the teaser, fans speculate that this points towards a potential encounter between Deadpool 3 and the Loki series!
