Pergamonmuseum

The first one is no other than the Pergamon Museum. It is undoubtedly one of the most important places in the city of Berlin since you will be able to observe and stand before the majesty of the Ishtar Gate of Babylon.

Seeing the Ishtar Gate will only be the beginning since, after it, you will be able to enjoy 3 amazing collections where some of the greatest treasures of Ancient Greece are found. The Pergamon Museum is not only an essential site for history lovers, but from our point of view, it is a must-see for everyone.

If you cannot visit it, remember that many art museums offer virtual tours so that you can enjoy some of the best works in the world from your home.

Altes Museum

The next place that we want to comment on is the Altes Museum, also known in English as the Old Museum. This is located on one of the most important streets in the center of Berlin, Karl Liebknecht Straße, which crosses Museum Island. The Altes Museum is located next to the Lustgarten fountain and another of the most important historical buildings in Berlin as is Berliner Dom.

Like the Pergamon, the Altes Museum was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1999, and in the oldest museum in Berlin, you can find numerous works of Ancient Greece and paintings of Roman art.

Neues Museum

From the oldest one we go to the Neues Museum, that is, to the New Museum. This was practically destroyed during the Second World War and was renovated at the end of the 20th century. In this institution, you can find many works of art from Ancient Egypt and above all, the famous bust of Nefertiti stands out.

Alte Nationalgalerie
