He was born in the United States and is one of the most iconic surfing legends: he has won the world championship more than 11 times! In addition, he won 4 national titles in the United States before qualifying for professional surfing and 6 Eastern Surfing Association titles.

He has won two World Surf League (WSL) world titles and he was qualified to represent the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
