The comic book world joins forces to support the survivors and honor those killed on June 12 in 2016 at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Authors and illustrators from around the world such as Mark Andreyko, have created graphic pieces to express their pain, compassion, frustration, and hope, inspired by this tragic event.

A tribute to the victims, the survivors, and their families, and also a beautiful message of peace and integration. Blue is a warm color

“Blue is a warm color” is a graphic novel drawn by the French cartoonist Julie Maroh. It tells the love story between two French women at the beginning of the 2000s, and the protagonist describes her feelings towards issues such as first love and acceptance of homosexuality. Based on the comic, a film adaptation was made in 2013, entitled “La Vida de Adèle”.

Anarcoma Complete graphic work

It’s a Spanish classic, available in English, in which Nazario tells the adventures of a transvestite detective. With a name that combines the words “anarchy” and “woodworm”, the iconic transvestite detective from the underworld of Barcelona in the eighties starred in this emblematic comic.

Anarcoma is an icon of the Spanish counterculture, which appeared in a society that was beginning to see the light at the end of the Franco dictatorship.

Juanma Useche presents his first graphic novel: a queer, with a sarcastic and vindictive story that represents a whole generation.

Tricks on Second Avenue

“Tricks on Second Avenue”, by Joyce Brabner and Mark Zingarelli (Two Whiskers), tells a true story of a group of New Yorkers who decided to cross the border into Mexico to find drugs to help their friends with AIDS.

The comic recalls the history and the behavior of the US Administration in those years. In its pages, we find sadness but also tender moments.

Fun Home

Alison Bechdel tells in this autobiographical LGBT comic her relationship with her father, who never accepted his own homosexuality. At the same time, she was discovering her sexual orientation.
