Rogue Squadron

Rogue Squadron has been the first confirmed film in the Star Wars saga and is expected to be released on the big screen the next year 2023, for Christmas. This new film will be directed by Patty Jenkins, the director of the two well-known Wonder Woman films.

Rogue Squadron will present the story of a new generation of starfighter pilots and like these, they earn their wings while risking their lives in a great and exciting high-speed journey that manages to push all limits and transfer the saga to the era of future galaxies.

Next Star Wars Movie: Untilted Film

The other film that will be released in the next few years at the moment does not have or has not wanted to reveal the name. What is known is that it will be the creation of the acclaimed filmmaker Taika Waititi, in case you don’t know who he is, Waititi was the writer and director of the Thor: Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit films.

Although the plot of the film is unknown, Taika Waititi has been chosen as the director of the film not only because of his great talent but also because he is expected to bring a fresh, unexpected, and unique air to the saga so that the viewer can enjoy a great trip thanks to the talent and sense of humor of the director.

The confirmed new series of Star Wars

If you still want to enjoy the saga, even more, we will comment below on the 8 series that have already been confirmed for Star Wars:

The Mandalorian

After the great success that the series has had, Disney + is already preparing a third season of The Mandalorian series in 2021. At the moment it has not been confirmed how the series will continue but it is expected that it will focus on Mando in search of a Jedi master to train Baby Yoda.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi, a new Star Wars series.
This new series has been officially titled Obi-Wan Kenobi and will begin 10 years after the events that occur in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where he faced one of his greatest defeats.

The series will be directed by Deborah Chow who previously directed the memorable episodes of the first season of The Mandalorian. And for even more good news, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced that Ewan McGregor will return to play the iconic role of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Hayden Christensen will come back to his role as Darth Vader.

Ashoka Tano

There will also be an Ahsoka mini-series produced by The Mandalorian writers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni who created the character while working on Clone Wars. Ahsoka Tano also appeared in the last The Mandalorian season. The producers haven’t confirmed the release date yet.

Rangers of the New Republic

The next series to be released is Rangers of the New Republic and this will be set in the same context and time as The Mandalorian. It is for this reason that it will also be produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni and will be intertwined with the events of Ashoka and The Mandalorian.

At the moment, the argument of the new series has not been presented and neither what the Ranger of the New Republic will consist of. Still, it is believed that Gina Carano’s Cara Dune could be involved in this new series.

Another series to be released is The Bad Batch and will consist of an animated series that will follow the elite clones as they find their way into a rapidly changing galaxy.

Throughout the Star Wars: Visions series, new approaches to a galaxy far away are introduced. This new series stands out for being an animated short film series to honor Star Wars through the best anime creations in the world.

A Droid Story

The last series we want to comment on is A Droid Story, and this is a new bet from Lucasfilm in which animation and visual effects are to be merged. To this end, Lucasfilm Animation will develop this new series together with Industrial Light & Magic to develop a special Star Wars adventure.

Possible next releases

As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, even though these films and series have been confirmed, it is not ruled out that there will be more premieres among which Solo 2 and a new Star Wars trilogy stand out. Despite the fact that Solo: A Star Wars Story was criticized at its premiere, over the years fans began to appreciate the story, and therefore it is believed that Disney + could adapt the story to a series.
