IS APEX LEGENDS CROSSPLAY? HOW TO PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS
Apex Legends, Respawn’s popular free shooter game, has crossover play on all platforms: Xbox One users, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Origin, and Steam can connect and play together. The game wasn’t released with cross-play but was added in October 2020. If you want to know how to play with your friends, keep reading!

How to add friends in apex legends?
When you activate the multiplatform, you will be able to team up with your friends on all platforms where Apex Legends is available.
- Go to the Friends menu.
- Click Find Friends.
- Enter the EA Public ID. You can also go to Privacy Settings and change the way players can search for you. To do this, go to Allow users to search for me by and mark:
- Email address
- PSN™ Online ID for PlayStation® 4 and 5
- Xbox Live® Gamertag for Xbox One and X S
- Nintendo nickname for Nintendo Switch
Your friend will receive an invitation in which they can accept, reject, or block your request. If you accept the request, you can play duos, trios, or arenas as usual.
In the friends’ menu, you will also be able to see which platform they are playing on, based on the icon that appears next to her name!
On which platforms is the multiplatform activated?
The multiplatform of Apex Legends is compatible with the following platforms:
- Origin
- Steam
- PlayStation
- Xbox
- Nintendo switch
Does Apex Legends have progress between platforms?
Apex Legends doesn’t support progress between platforms on different consoles. You won’t be able to transfer your achievements, progress, or anything else to other systems if you play on more than one platform.
For example, if you play Apex Legends on PC and PlayStation, your progress won’t be transferred between both platforms.
Steam
Only Steam and Origin players have cross-platform progress as they are both PC platforms!
The first time you launch Apex Legends on Steam, they will ask you to link your EA Account. Make sure this is the account you want to link to!
How to deactivate the multiplatform
If you disable multiplatform, you can only team up with other players who have disabled multiplatform on the same platform.
The multiplatform should activate automatically. If you are playing on PlayStation®, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch and want to deactivate or activate it, follow these steps:
- Head to the lobby.
- Click on the cogwheel (game menu) in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll down to Multiplatform.
- Click Enabled to enable it and Disabled to disable it.
