It’s any given Wednesday in any given winter in Berlin, and you find yourself staring at a crown-shaped structure that seems to rule the city. It used to be a station, but now it’s the most peculiar spa in the capital. Do you deserve it? It’s always a yes!

This place has everything that characterizes an aquatic relaxation center. But if there is one thing that makes the Liquidrom a unique urbane spa space, itās the underwater techno therapy.Ā
Electronic music has defined the foundations of contemporary Berlin, a bond that this venue translates into its most innovative expression. At first glance, everything is meticulously studied to induce relaxation, but you have to go beyond where the eyes reach.
All the senses
Relaxation has to reach all the senses. Music plays a key role in this, and water carries sound better than air. Lost in this kind of ‘zen pool party’, the mind is immersed in a parallel universe, in a dreamlike apnea where time stands still.Ā
On the surface, bodies are carried away by the swaying of the floating pool. Under the salt water, the exquisite rhythm created by deejay Maora Planet Orfea engulfs the ears and transforms into a sound as enveloping as it is transcendental. A liquid layer that divides two worlds, in which the incessant beat that would shake our body in any club in the capital manages to embrace us and make us float on a journey into the void.

Minimalist jazz, ethereal chill, readings of texts
Although these relaxation sessions are the most striking and popular, they also experiment with other sounds such as minimalist jazz, the most ethereal chill and even with text readings. All of this is designed to counteract the unsettling pace of life that the city can inflict. Music is a fundamental sense to help find complete relaxation.
Beyond the jewel in this aquatic crown, the Liquidrom Berlin offers other, more traditional paths to unwinding. Sauna, thermal baths, massages, and mud therapies make this quirky nook an oasis, a haven of calm where naked men and women leave stress behind. On leaving, the cold darkness of the street seems a little more comforting!
In the events section of the spa’s website you’ll find detailed information on special electronic evenings, ranging from minimalist jazz nights to electronic music, film music, classics, B-sides and live instrumentals. There are also massage facilities and a restaurant, so you can completely isolate yourself from the outside world during your visit to this futuristic haven of relaxation!
