“Hagenauer Haus”: Mozart birthplace

This was the house where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the best known and most famous son of Salzburg, was born. His family lived in one of the apartments in the third-floor house for more than 25 years. Mozart, with his parents and his sister, spent his entire childhood there, and also a large part of his youth.Ā 

In 1773, the Mozart family moved to another house, in Makartplatz, known as “Mozart Residence”.
